Key Features
Buyer guide
A 4G GPS tracker is an LTE-connected positioning device that reports location, ignition, speed and alarm events to your server over TCP, and the right model is decided by how it is powered before anything else. SKYWONDER manufactures hardwired, OBD plug-in, magnetic-battery and wearable 4G units in Shenzhen, all speaking the GT06 protocol so the hardware choice stays independent of the platform choice. MOQ is 50-100 units depending on the model, white-label branding starts at 100 units, and samples of 3-10 units ship within 5-7 business days by express courier.
How to choose a 4G GPS tracker
Decide the power source first, the LTE band variant second, and the alarm set and I/O third. Hardwired units suit installed fleet and finance work, battery-magnet units suit assets nobody will wire, and OBD units suit rental fleets where the end user plugs the device in.
Every tracker here reports over TCP using the GT06 protocol, so the same hardware can point at our platform, your own server or a third-party system later. If you have not worked with that protocol, read the GT06 protocol explainer before fixing a firmware spec.
The decision nobody should skip is the band plan. A device that works in Mexico can fail to attach in India if the LTE variant is wrong, so read the band notes below before you order.
Fleet operator with installed vehicles
You want a hardwired unit with ACC detection, a relay output for fuel or ignition cut, and enough blind-spot log storage that a tunnel or a dead cell does not leave a hole in the trip report.
The GT10 and GX7 are the usual fleet choices; the J11 adds a backup server IP if the primary endpoint fails.
- Ask for ACC detection so ignition-on and ignition-off events are in every upload, not inferred from speed
- Specify a relay control line only if your installers are trained to fit it safely
- GT10 stores 2000 blind-spot records; J11 caches during signal loss and resends automatically when the network returns
- Pair the trackers with 4G dashcams and MDVRs when the customer also needs video evidence
White-label reseller building recurring revenue
Your economics depend on one device family you can support well, not on fourteen SKUs. Pick one hardwired model and one battery model, brand both, and add a third only when a customer pays for it.
White-label starts at 100 units and covers the device silk screen, retail box, platform skin and mobile apps. Detail sits on the reseller program page and in the white-label GPS tracker guide.
- Hardwired anchor: GT06 or H9, both compact and installer-friendly
- Battery anchor: W07 for magnet-mount work, GT76 when the customer wants very long standby
- Keep one firmware build across the range so your support desk learns one set of SMS commands
- Compare platform options first in top white-label GPS tracking platforms
Auto-finance, BHPH and lease-to-own lender
Recovery work needs a hidden hardwired unit, a tamper or power-cut alarm that fires within seconds, and a second device for the cases where the first is found.
The GX7 and H8 both report tamper, fall-detection and power-cut alarms; a battery unit such as the W07 makes a good silent backup. See auto finance and BHPH for the workflow.
- Power-cut alarm on the primary device, Hall-effect tamper alarm on the backup
- Relay control should be a policy decision, not a default: confirm local law on remote engine disable before you enable it
- Ask for a custom serial-number prefix so devices in the field map to loan accounts
Asset owner: generators, containers, trailers and boats
Unpowered assets need battery capacity and an ingress rating, not I/O. The question is how long between charges you can tolerate and whether the asset sits in sunlight.
The W10 carries a 3.7V/6000mAh cell at IP65; the GT76 carries 20000 mAh; the solar Y8 and Y9 are IP67 for outdoor and marine work.
- Magnetic mount removes the installer cost entirely on steel assets
- Match the ingress rating to the environment: IP65 for sheltered, IP67 for exposed and marine
- Longer reporting intervals buy standby time; set the interval per customer, not per factory default
- Browse the wider asset tracker and portable tracker ranges
Importer or distributor stocking a range
Stock breadth beats depth in a new market, up to a point. Three or four SKUs across hardwired, OBD and battery covers most enquiries without stranding capital.
First orders are often a mixed trial batch so you can validate the hardware before committing to volume; read importing GPS trackers from China and the MOQ guide before you place it.
- Hardwired: GT06 or GT10. OBD: C30. Battery: W07. Wearable: GT28
- Hold replacement stock at roughly 3-5 percent of units in the field for warranty swaps
- Confirm the certification file your customs broker needs in advance: certifications, plus region notes for Africa and Brazil
LTE band planning by region
Several models ship as region variants that differ only in the cellular module firmware and the bands it exposes. Getting this wrong is the single most common cause of a batch that registers on 2G but never attaches to LTE.
The GT06 and C30 band sets are published as three variants. SA covers LTE-FDD:B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B28/B66 with GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, E covers LTE-FDD:B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20 with GSM 900/1800MHz, and C covers LTE-FDD:B1/B3/B5/B8 plus LTE:TDD:B34/B38/B39//B40/B41. The GT10 is published with the SA and E variants only.
The H9 uses the same idea with different labels: EC200A-CN for China and Asia, EC200A-EU for Europe, EC200A-LA for the Americas. The GT28 wearable is published as Model A and Model B. Send us the operator you plan to use and we confirm the variant on the order rather than guessing from the country.
- GT06 / C30 SA variant: LTE-FDD B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B28/B66, GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
- GT06 / C30 E variant: LTE-FDD B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20, GSM 900/1800MHz
- GT06 / C30 C variant: LTE-FDD B1/B3/B5/B8 plus LTE-TDD B34/B38/B39/B40/B41
- H9: EC200A-CN FDD B1/3/5/8 and TDD B34/38/39/40/41; EC200A-EU FDD B1/3/5/7/8/20/28; EC200A-LA FDD B2/3/4/5/7/8/28/66
- W07: LTE CAT 1, LTE-FDD B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B28/B66 with 2G fallback on 850/900/1800/1900MHz
- Y9: LTE-FDD B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/19/20/25/26/28/66 and LTE-TDD B34/38/39/40/41, the widest set in the range
- Y8: LTE-FDD B1/B3/B5/B8 and LTE-TDD B34/B38/B39/B40/B41
- GT28: Model A 4G-FDD B1/2/3/5/7/8/20 and 4G-TDD B38/39/40/41; Model B 4G-FDD B1/2/4/5/7/12/17/28A
- SIM selection matters as much as bands: see SIM cards for GPS trackers and data consumption per device
4G GPS tracker comparison: specifications by model
The table uses the published specification values for each SKU. Where a value is not published, the cell shows a dash rather than an estimate; ask us and we will confirm it against the current production build.
Read it by column group: chipset and positioning mode set accuracy behaviour, channels and tracking sensitivity predict performance under canopy or in dense urban settings, and battery plus voltage decide where the unit can go.

Platform, protocol and software
Every 4G tracker in this category reports over TCP using the GT06 protocol; our 4G dashcams and MDVRs use JT/T 808. That split matters when you plan a platform, because it decides which parser you need on day one.
Traqcare is our tracking platform, delivered as a web application plus iOS and Android apps, and it can be white-labelled with your brand and domain. It covers live tracking, route playback, alerts, geofences, fuel management, reports, device management and user roles, and the platform is covered on GPS tracking software.
You are not obliged to use it. The same devices are compatible with Traccar, Wialon, Navixy and GPS-Trace, with no port fees from us.
- Protocol: GT06 over TCP for trackers, JT/T 808 for dashcams and MDVRs; the H9 datasheet lists GT06/JT808
- Server config: IP, port and APN are set by SMS command or pre-configured at the factory on OEM orders
- Failover: the J11 holds a primary and a backup server IP and switches automatically if the primary stops answering
- Offline behaviour: blind-spot caching and automatic resend once the network returns, sized per model (1000 to 4000 records)
- Firmware: OTA and FOTA upgrade supported across the range, so a fleet in the field can be updated without recall
- Integration help: parser notes, test devices and protocol documentation via developers and GPS tracking software
Choosing between our platform and your own
If you already run a server, keep it and point the devices at your endpoint. If you are starting from zero, a white-label platform removes a year or more of engineering before you have a paying customer.
The trade-offs are set out in the platform comparison, and the device firmware is the same either way, so the decision is reversible.

OEM, ODM and white-label options
OEM means our hardware carrying your brand; ODM means a device designed to your specification from the PCB up. Most partners start with OEM and move to ODM only once a product line justifies the tooling.
Use the checklist below when you write the specification: every item on it changes the MOQ, the lead time or both.
- Logo on the device: silk screen, laser engraving or moulded into the housing
- Custom housing colour and button colour
- Retail packaging designed and printed with your branding
- User manuals and quick-start guides in your languages
- Custom serial-number prefix so field devices map to your records
- Pre-configured APN and server settings so units work out of the box on arrival
- Firmware branding, default reporting interval and default alarm thresholds
- Platform and mobile apps re-skinned with your name, logo and domain: see the reseller program
- Region band variant confirmed against the operator you will actually use
- Certification file set assembled for your customs broker: certifications
- For custom PCB, housing and feature design from scratch, ODM MOQ is higher (1,000-5,000 units by complexity) and lead time is 60-90 days for prototyping plus production
Customisation tiers, MOQ and lead time (pricing is quoted per model at your volume, never published)
| Tier | What changes | MOQ | Lead time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | SKYWONDER-branded stock hardware, your APN and server set on arrival | 50-100 units depending on the model | In-stock models 3-7 days; production runs 15-25 days after deposit |
| Logo and packaging | Your logo on the device, custom housing colour, retail box, manuals and serial prefix | From 100 units | 15-25 days after deposit |
| Firmware and app customisation | Firmware branding, default intervals and thresholds, pre-configured APN, white-label platform plus iOS and Android apps in your name | From 100 units | 15-25 days after deposit, plus platform and app build time |

Four applications that drive most 4G tracker volume
These four cover most of the units we ship into India, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and the UAE. Each has a different device profile, and reading it correctly matters more than the last cent of unit cost.
Fleet management and logistics
Commercial fleets need ignition-accurate trip data, speed and geofence alarms, and route playback clean enough to settle a customer dispute. Hardwired units with ACC detection and inflexion upload produce that; battery units do not.
Cold-chain and long-haul operators typically add a sensor on a serial port, which is where the H8 TTL/RS485 channel earns its place. See fleet management and logistics and cold chain.
- Recommended: GT10, GX7, J11
- Specify: ACC input, blind-spot storage, overspeed and geofence alarms, relay only if legally cleared
- Indian school and commercial fleets should read AIS-140 compliance and school bus tracking
Vehicle finance, rental and BHPH
Here the tracker is collateral protection, so the failure mode that matters is a device found and removed. Fit a hidden hardwired primary plus a magnetic secondary, with tamper and power-cut alarms on both.
Rental fleets that rotate vehicles quickly prefer the OBD C30 because it needs no installer visit. See auto finance and BHPH and car rental.
- Recommended: GX7 or H9 as primary, W07 as a covert battery backup, C30 for rental turnarounds
- Specify: power-cut alarm, displacement alarm, tamper alarm, custom serial prefix
- Full plug-in range: OBD trackers
Motorcycle, two-wheeler and delivery fleets
Two-wheelers punish size and vibration tolerance more than cars do, and the space is usually under the seat next to a hot component. Small, low-current, wide-voltage units survive this.
The J11 at 83 x 23 x 13mm and 26g and the GX3 at 40 grams are the usual picks. Delivery and ride-hailing operators are covered on the motorcycle GPS tracker page.
- Recommended: J11, GX3, H9
- Specify: wide DC input, low static current, vibration and displacement alarms
- Also consider the broader vehicle tracker range
Unpowered assets, marine and heavy equipment
Generators, containers, trailers, plant and small vessels have no reliable power and often no installer. Battery capacity, ingress rating and mounting method are the whole specification.
Solar models change the economics outdoors: the Y8 and Y9 top up in daylight instead of coming back for a charge. Marine buyers should note the Y9 capsizing alarm and water-drop detection.
- Recommended: GT76 and W10 for sheltered assets, Y8 and Y9 for exposed and marine assets
- Specify: reporting interval per customer, ingress rating, magnet or bracket mount, removal alarm
- Full range: asset trackers and portable trackers
How to order samples and place a first order
This is the sequence we run with every new partner. The slow step is sample evaluation on a real vehicle, so start it early rather than waiting on the quotation.
- 1
Send the enquiry
Tell us the product type, target quantity, customisation needs and destination market. The destination decides the band variant, so name the country and, if you know it, the mobile operator. Start at contact.
- 2
Receive the quotation
We quote per model at your volume, including tooling where it applies, shipping options and payment terms. Standard terms are T/T with a 30 percent deposit and the balance before shipment; L/C is available for larger orders and cards or PayPal for samples.
- 3
Order 3-10 samples
Samples ship within 5-7 business days by express courier. Sample charges are credited against your first bulk order, so a serious evaluation costs nothing once you proceed.
- 4
Test on your own platform
Point the samples at your server or a Traqcare trial and confirm attach time, reporting interval, alarm behaviour and offline resend. Our engineers help with the parser and the SMS command set through developers.
- 5
Agree the customisation
If you are branding the units, this is where logo artwork, housing colour, packaging design, manual languages, serial prefix and default firmware settings are fixed. Changes after this point restart the lead time.
- 6
Place the production order
Production starts once the design is approved and the deposit is received. In-stock models ship in 3-7 days; custom and high-volume runs take 15-25 days after deposit, depending on quantity and customisation level.
- 7
QC, documentation and shipping
We run a final QC inspection and issue a pre-shipment report, and you are free to arrange a third-party inspection as well. We ship FOB Shenzhen or CIF to your port by air, sea or express, with commercial invoice, packing list, HS codes and certification documents included.
Test before you commit
Order 3–10 sample units and evaluate them on your own platform or on Traqcare before placing a production order.
Production and quality control
SKYWONDER Technology Co. Ltd. has manufactured in Shenzhen since 2011. The plant runs an ISO 9001 quality system across 5,000+ square metres with 200+ staff including 30+ R&D engineers, and more than 20 million units dispatched to date shipped to partners in 100+ countries.

Certifications
Products across the range are manufactured to CE, FCC, PTCRB, IC, RoHS, REACH and ISO 9001 standards. Which certificates apply to a specific SKU depends on the model, so ask for the file set for the models you are buying.
We assist with additional market-specific certifications and test reports on request: see certifications and the manufacturer overview.
Warranty and returns
All devices carry a 12-month manufacturer warranty against manufacturing defects, with firmware updates, spare parts and technical integration support included. Volume accounts get a named engineer.
Unopened stock can be returned within 30 days; the buyer pays return shipping and a restocking fee may apply. Custom and white-label production is non-returnable, which is exactly why the sample step exists.
Factory visit
Partners are welcome to visit the Shenzhen facility and see the SMT line, the assembly and testing workshops, the R&D lab and the sample room. Contact us about a week in advance and we can arrange airport pickup; if a visit is not practical, ask for the pre-shipment QC report and inspection documents for your order.
Buying questions
What is the difference between a 4G GPS tracker and a 2G tracker?
A 4G tracker attaches to an LTE network, which stays supported as operators retire 2G and 3G, and it holds a data session more reliably for frequent reporting. Several of our 4G models keep a 2G fallback so a unit still reports where LTE coverage is thin. Where a 2G sunset date already applies, a 2G device is a short-lived asset: see 4G vs 2G and 3G trackers.
What is the MOQ for 4G GPS trackers?
MOQ is 50-100 units per model depending on the product. White-label branding starts at 100 units. For a first order we can arrange a smaller mixed-model trial batch so you can validate the hardware in your market before committing to volume: see the MOQ guide.
How do I know which LTE band variant to order?
Tell us the destination country and, if possible, the mobile operator and SIM you plan to use. Several models ship as region variants: GT06 and C30 as SA, E and C; the H9 as EC200A-CN, EC200A-EU and EC200A-LA; the GT28 as Model A and Model B. We confirm the variant on the order rather than shipping a default.
Can these trackers work with Traccar, Wialon or my own server?
Yes. The trackers report over TCP using the GT06 protocol and are compatible with Traccar, Wialon, Navixy and GPS-Trace, with no port fees from us. Set the server IP, port and APN by SMS command, or ask us to pre-configure them at the factory. Parser notes and test support are available through developers.
How long do samples take and are they credited?
Sample orders of 3-10 units ship within 5-7 business days by express courier. Sample charges are credited against your first bulk order. We accept cards and PayPal for samples, and T/T or L/C for production orders.
Which model should a reseller stock first?
One hardwired model and one battery model. The GT06 or H9 covers installed vehicles, and the W07 covers magnet-mount and covert work. Add the C30 only when rental or insurance customers ask for a plug-in device.
What warranty and return terms apply?
Devices carry a 12-month manufacturer warranty on manufacturing defects, with firmware updates, spare parts and integration support. Unopened stock can be returned within 30 days, with the buyer paying return shipping and a possible restocking fee. Custom and white-label production is non-returnable.
Do you help with import documentation and certification?
Yes. We ship FOB Shenzhen or CIF to your port with commercial invoices, packing lists, HS codes and certification documents, and we assist with market-specific certifications on request. Start with importing GPS trackers from China and our FAQ.
